MyCoupons.com’s Tips For Becoming the Ultimate Couponer

Coupon Image | MyCoupons.com

While couponing may be a current trend, coupon clipping is truthfully nothing new. While many bargain-hunters and savvy savers scour the Sunday papers for the best deals and steals, many consumers now turn to websites and mobile apps to hunt for the most current, most valuable coupons.

Internet-printable coupons are an option that even a tech-newbie can appreciate, but there are so many other great options such as online promo codes, mobile-friendly coupons, and more. MyCoupons.com is here to give you the tips you need in order to save – whether you are a couponing pro, or a not-so-extreme couponer.

MyCoupons.com has a team of experts who work diligently aggregate the best, most useful, and most current deals. Unlike our competitors, MyCoupons is the oldest and largest coupon site on the web – and we offer many exclusive deals that aren’t available on other websites. It’s
simple: you can visit MyCoupons.com, and search for your favorite retailer or brand. Once you find them, click the coupon you want, copy the code, and wah-la! You’re on your way to shopping paradise.

The Sunday newspaper is still a good way to get tried-and-true grocery coupons. If you prefer the scour, sni, and clip method, this traditional way of couponing is for you. The upside is that it’s what you’re used to, but the downside is that sometimes, coupons
en masse can be difficult to organize, and easy-to-use.

That being said, remember that MyCoupons.com offers printable coupons that you can use in-store, as well as the online promo codes.

Tip: Sign up for alerts from your favorite retailers on MyCoupons.com. Want to be notified when Land’s End, Nordstrom, Sears, Toys R’ Us, or Vera Bradley are having a sale? No problem. Just sign up – and we’ll let you know when we have new coupons for you.

In any case, no matter where you get your coupons, be sure to check for expiration dates and read the “fine print.” Also know the coupon policies of the store. Educate yourself on stacking and doubling. Stacking means that you can use store coupons on top of manufacturer’s coupons or other deals. Doubling means that some stores will double the value of the coupon up to a certain price. Know these terms – and
utilize them!

Check to see if your coupon is valid on sale or clearance items, or if any exclusions apply.

Another great tip? Do good! Want to help others in need? When you have duplicate coupons, share them with a stranger or a family in need. Shopping online? Share our links with your peers to help them save, too! The more who save money, the merrier: there’s enough coupons to go around! :)

Chic Clothing Coupons and Frugal Fashion Finds

Frugal Fashion | MyCoupons.com

Being fashionable doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. It’s easy to dress your best, even on a budget. Frugal fashionistas are always in style, and, I don’t know about you, but getting a bargain on the hottest trends always puts a smile on my face! :)

Your favorite clothing retailers often offer deals, specials, and coupons, both online and in stores. These promotions could change day-to-day, and can come and go as quickly as the fleeting fashion trends that punctuate the lives of style-savvy shoppers everywhere.

The first step to being a savvy shopper is to know where to go to get the best coupons and promo codes for your favorite name brands and designers. Often times, the biggest opportunities to save aren’t even listed directly on the store websites or advertisements – they’re on sites like MyCoupons.com!

One way to be “in-the-know” about your favorite brands is to sign up for our merchant newsletters, so that you are notified when your favorite stores or brands are having a sale. Another way is to just bookmark MyCoupons.com as your go-to before you begin your online shopping. Checking the site first will save you time AND money!

Right now, for example, Land’s End is offering 30% off everything, plus free shipping, while Kate Spade is offering up to 60% off sale items, and Jessica Simpson is offering 20% off of her sale items. Piperlime and Nordstrom are offering free shipping and free returns, and TOMS is offering $5 off a $25 purchase plus free shipping.

Some sales come and go quickly, though — so be sure to keep an eye out — you don’t want to blink and miss ‘em! For example, American Eagle is currently offering 40%
off
select styles styles at AE.com this weekend only! Automatic free shipping on everything…but, if you want it, you’ll have to hurry. (This offer ends May 19th, 2013.)

Of course, there are also other ways to save money on clothes, aside from coupons. You can always visit vintage clothing stores, thrift shops, and/or swap clothing with friends or family members. Some people are even adventurous and creative enough to make their own clothing (a talent that I do not possess.) Checking out Pinterest for frugal fashion ideas and clothes DIYs is also another fun option.

Stores often have clearance racks and in-store promotions, too, so make sure that if you’re using a coupon that it’s applicable to the item you are purchasing.

Most of all, remember that money can’t buy style! Fashion is what you make it — no matter how much it may cost.

Clunk, Clunk…Ugh! What You “Auto” Know About Affordable Car Care

Car Image | MyCoupons.com

Now that the weather is finally heating up, it’s time to take those motorcycles and convertibles out of winter storage and spruce up your everyday vehicle. If your luck is anything like mine, you’ll start running into new problems to fix like your AC not working on an 85 degree day or your car overheating in the middle of the interstate. Or how about that flat tire when you were already an hour late for work?

Car parts, labor and general upkeep of vehicles can become very pricey.  It’s bad enough that we have to pay outrageous gas prices, why torture ourselves with paying the expensive charges at garages? Before you throw your hands up and pull up to the mechanic, check out these auto deals below. And if you’re feeling overly ambitious, find your “how to” online and perform your own maintenance!

JC Whitney is holding a great Memorial Day Sale for all your auto parts needs. If you spend $99 or more you can take 10% off your order with code JCWMEM.  JC Whitney specializes in customer service to insure you are getting the right part for your vehicle. When choosing a part, the website will prompt you to enter your vehicle make, model and year so you don’t waste time running back and forth to the auto store.

There’s nothing better than driving a unique vehicle, but the upgrades can hurt your wallet. If you’re an avid biker then you’ll be hooked on Cruiser Customizing. Cruiser Customizing has a variety of products that will fit any bike as well as biker gear for your safety. They have a low price guarantee that can’t be beat, but on top of that they also run promotions! What are you waiting for? Blip the throttle, customize your bike and get a $10 gift certificate with a purchase of $100 or more with code GIFTCC.

Tires can be one of the most expensive parts needed for your vehicle. Let’s face it, you wouldn’t make it anywhere without them. Tire Rack is my go-to place for tires because they hold high standards for their manufacturers and have tire experts available to help you make a selection. Their deals on popular and reliable tires are unbeatable.  They have an entire page of deals which includes receiving a $50 Visa Prepaid Card with the purchase of 4 Sumitomo HTR Z III tires.

Now, don’t put it off any longer! You know that your oil needs changed every 5000 miles and you’re already 300 miles over. You hear those brakes squeaking in traffic every day, have a look.   That weird engine clicking should probably be checked out, too. For more money saving deals at your favorite online auto stores, stop by MyCoupons before you go shopping…and if you need a NEW car, check out Auto Trader, too!

Saving on Summer Travel

Travel BargainsHave you and your family planned a summer vacation yet? Are you unsure of whether or not a getaway is even financially possible this year? You may be surprised to find out that things are more feasible than you think. With the help of travel comparison sites and heavily discounted trip options, the expenses of travel aren’t as unreasonable as they once were. In fact, often these trips are a down right steal!

The idea of budgeting for a family of 4 can sometimes be a daunting thought. Collectively booking travel to and from, hotel accommodations, plus meals and entertainment for every member of your family can come with a hefty price tag, especially when you compile them individually. However, these days bundling expenses into a package is sometimes the thriftiest option. Travel sites like Expedia and Travelocity are doing more of the leg work for all of us these days. When you visit their site, they’ll clearly list out destination options with an “everything-included” price tag attached right off the bat. This way, you know exactly what is doable and what is not. Plus, pricing first and choosing a destination second can sometimes be a fun way to plan. You may not have ever put South Carolina on your wish list, but you may find that you and your family will enjoy some of the southern lifestyle and attractions it has to offer. Options like this can be new and exciting experiences, but you won’t know until you try.

On top of package options, Cheaptickets.com and CheapoAir.com sometimes offer discounted flights during a particular holiday or time of year. For instance, this Memorial Day if you are one of the first 100 people to book a hotel exceeding $200, you can save $100 with code CHEAPEST100.  Excess flight inventory is a score for you and your checkbook.

So, don’t let work beat you down any longer, shop online for your trip and jet set you and your family to a new, fun, and exciting place today!

Stylish Mamas: How Our Mothers Influence Our Fashion

Playing Dress Up - MyCoupons.com

Mother’s Day weekend is here, and so many of us have mom on the mind. Mothers can influence us in many different ways, but, one way that moms can be a source of inspiration – especially to their daughters – is through their fashion sense. Intergenerational style influence is something that has been written about by scholars and in fashion magazines alike. Many times, our mothers play a role in the fashion choices we make, whether we consciously realize it or not.

For instance, how many of you played “dress-up” with your mom’s clothes when you were little? I know that I sure did. When you were a kid, did you long for your mom’s beautiful hair? Did you watch her get ready for work? Do certain perfumes make you think of her? Or, have you ever been told you’ve looked like your mother? Sometimes, it isn’t just your genes – it may be your jeans! We take a cue from mom and other female family members or role models on how to act, speak, and, yes, even on how to dress. Often times, young girls go through a stage of rebellion when they go against everything that their mother would “prefer” they wear – but this rebelling, in turn, is also shaping our sense of individual style, like it or not. As we grow older, we often further reflect our mother’s fashion sensibilities and even her mannerisms. (Just ask someone who swore they’d never become their mother! ;) )

Even if your mother wasn’t around while you were growing up, it is still likely that another family member, friend, or even a teacher or celebrity has, at some point, influenced your personal style. The most important thing we can take from our fashion role models is that confidence and individuality are, without a doubt, the most stylish and beautiful qualities that one can possess!
Now you can express yourself and that powerful confidence at a fraction of the cost! Between my Nana’s amazing taste in high-quality clothing and my mom’s innate ability to get great items at a great price, I’ve become a “bargain fashionista.” Yes – I love to shop! – but…I love a sale even more.

So make your mother proud and save money while you shop coupons and promo codes such as: 20% off Women’s, Women’s Plus & Maternity at Old Navy, 30% off at The Gap & Banana Republic, 20% off plus Free Shipping on all Women’s Styles at Levi.com, 10%-80% off sale items at Athleta, up to 70% off at Land’s End, 40% Off at LOFT, $20 off $80 at CJ Banks, plus specials at Kate SpadeNordstrom, the Trend Boutique, and more! I know these bargains make me smile – and would make my Mom & my Nana smile, too. :)
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mommies out there – and with all of the amazing deals out there, you should treat yourself to a new outfit…you deserve it! 

Nurses Need Patience because Patients Need Nurses – Say Thank You!

Nurse's Week | MyCoupons.com

For most people, going to the doctor or emergency room is a stressful and anxiety-inducing experience, but nurses always seem to be the calming force in the middle of all the chaos. For all the nurses who have stitched up a roller-blading wound, casted a broken arm, and cared for our families, we thank you.  In honor of National Nurse’s Week (May 6-May 12), I have found some great deals on gifts for the nurse you admire!

If the special nurse in your life is your family or friend, then add to their scrub attire. Picking out scrubs according to their personality and interests can show how much you care. Is your nurse a pediatric nurse? Scrubs with cartoon characters are a go! Does your nurse love Steelers football? Then black and gold scrubs are a must for football season. Scrubs & Beyond offers unique scrubs in a variety of sizes for affordable prices. They also carry other accessories like shoes, watches, lanyards, stethoscopes and bags. They run online promotions all month long to help nurses and other medical personal save on uniforms.  In fact, if you order today, you will receive 5% off your order with code WCJ5POFF and if you spend over $125, your order will ship for free.

If you are an employer or a patient of a nurse, thank your nurse with a small gift. Thoughtful small gifts like gift baskets and flowers show your appreciation for hard work and compassion.  Send a healthy fruit basket with cheeses and nuts from Harry & David. MyCoupons has an exclusive offer with Harry & David right now to take 12% off your order if you spend $39 or more, use code MYCOUPONS39.  ProFlowers also has great deals on flowers through website specials. One of my favorite picks to say thank you is the Royal Spring Lilies for only $19.99.  Send your gift directly to the office to surprise your nurse in the middle of her undoubtedly hectic workday!

Gifts not in your budget this year? A greeting card or a kind hand-written thank you note will always show how much you appreciate your nurse!

Be a Savvy Saver: Summer Shoe Shopping Tips & Trends

SummerShoes - MyCoupons.com

Spring has sprung, and will be morphing into summer before we know it…and with the changing of the seasons comes changes in our wardrobes – shoes being no exception.

Some of us are shoe-fanatics, while others view footwear as a necessity rather than a fetish. Whether you are infatuated with shoe shopping, view high heels as a work of art, or simply consider your shoes to be an integral part of your everyday apparel, there’s no denying that, for most of us, shoes are crucial for completing the perfect outfit and protecting our feet!

No matter your style, there’s a shoe out there for you. Footwear trends are always changing – and, unfortunately for some of us who are a bit, um, shoe-obsessed, shopping for shoes can become a rather expensive habit! To be able to keep up with the latest and most fashionable shoe trends, you need to become a smart and savvy shoe shopper.

Follow these tips to find the perfect shoe for this summer:

Focus on comfort: trends come and go, but comfort is important – especially if you are on your feet a lot!

Get a few basic styles and colors of shoes that will go with everything. (Athleta has some amazing options ranging from sandals to performance footwear and more, and Kate Spade has great basics, as well!) Spend more money on wardrobe these staples such as comfortable, neutral shoes that will last a long time. When you do want to splurge and treat youreslf to a luxe or trendy pair of shoes, do so on the cheap, in case the style fizzles out sooner than you’d expected.

If you are into the latest fashions, check MyCoupons.com for savings before you shop! You can find current coupons, promo codes, discounts, and sales from your favorite shoe brands and designers, both in-store and online. (Jessica Simpson Collection and Nordstrom have some very current pieces.) If you already know what you want, and hope to get the very best deal out there, you may want to check out some shoe-specific websites, but be sure to always check for coupons and promo codes first so that you get a bargain!

Guys – we haven’t forgotten you. Stilettos may not be your thing, but, as with women’s shoes, men’s shoe trends and styles vary. YOu also should have a variety of basic styles in your wardrobe: dress shoes, loafers, sneakers, and sandals.  If you are an athlete, it is important to change out your running shoes or athletic shoes every so often. Some experts recommend replacing sneakers every 300-500 miles. Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, and New Balance are just some examples of brands that have some great sneakers and athletic footwear.

For families that are going on vacation, you can get a great pair of flip-flops, and even some kids shoes, at many national retailers — just be sure to shop early before they’re all sold out!

Last, but not least…take a friend with you. It’s always more fun to shop with a pal – and his or her feedback could be invaluable to you in choosing the perfect shoe!

Check current shoe coupons and promos for the whole family, here.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Baseball - MyCoupons.com

The start of spring means a lot of different things to different people.

Some are happy to see the snow melt away, and the flowers start to bloom. For others, it brings the unfortunate torture of allergy season, or the dreaded start of overdue yard work. Still, the beginning of summer is a chance for everyone to get out and enjoy all of the things they couldn’t do when they were locked away with the winter blues.

Ever since I was a little kid, one of my favorite summer activities was a trip to the ballpark. I love the game of baseball,  but even more, I love the atmosphere that surrounds it. As soon as you enter the gates, you hear the sounds of cracking bats and 90 mph fastballs, smell the sweet scents of hotdogs and french fries, and feel the booming sounds from the scoreboard as the starting lineups are announced. There really is nothing else like it. America’s pastime is a truly special game and one that I love enjoying with my family and friends each and every summer.

Each new season brings exciting changes at the stadium, but there has always been one that has never sat well with me. Season after season, the price of team apparel and souvenirs gets progressively more expensive. While it is fun to buy that game day jersey or hat that your favorite team is wearing, it just doesn’t make financial sense anymore. With all of the online stores that sell the same gear for a quarter of the price, you’re better off doing your fan shopping the week before from the comfort of your couch.

Stores like MLB.com and Football Fanatics often offer an even greater selection than what you’re limited to at the ballpark, and most even have online coupons to lessen the blow and save on your shipping expenses. So before you smoke a fastball right through your wallet on game day, keep these stores in your bullpen before your trip this summer!
