MyCoupons.com Re-Invents Online Bargain Hunting with the World's First COUParison Shopping™ Engine

Written: 18 Sep 2007

Pittsburgh, PA.Sept. 18, 2007-.MyCoupons.com announced today its new, more powerful, resourceful website featuring the World's First COUParison Shopping™ Engine.  Unlike traditional comparison shopping sites, MyCoupons.com uses all available coupon codes to show users the bottom-line best prices on the products they are seeking.  MyCoupons.com has been able to quickly enhance its listing since there is no charge for a merchant to publish their product feeds.

With sites like Shopzilla.com, PriceGrabber.com, or Shopping.com, the merchants listed in the search results have to pay a fee just to be there.  MyCoupons.com has the most complete listings of any comparison shopping site since it takes price information from all merchants, without the fees.  "With the innovation of the COUParison Shopping™ Engine the challenge for the merchants is to supply MyCoupons.com with a great coupon code.  Their name will be there without the code, but the most attractive coupon code will get the click", said MyCoupons.com President, Greg Stoltz.

MyCoupons.com continues to innovate in promotional marketing.  As early as 1994, they put the first coupon online, and by 1997, the site built a 'coupon community' with shopping forums.  MyCoupons.com originated the concept of Cost-Per-Redeem® when it re-launched its website in March of 2007.  Cost-Per-Redeem® is a unique business model which allows merchants a low flat rate only when a coupon code is redeemed.  MyCoupons.com has a flat $3 fee as opposed to the CPA-based affiliate networks who charge a percentage of the sale.

Because merchants have more of a margin to work with, they give MyCoupons.com a better Coupon Code, which means shoppers who come to MyCoupons.com always get the best deal.  With the COUParison Shopping™ Engine merchants are given options to present their customers with the best deal.  The consumer will always save more time and money when you start at MyCoupons.com.

About MyCoupons.com

MyCoupons.com was established in 1995 by Jason Wolfe and was originally launched as Coupons Direct/DirectCoupons in 1995.  In 1997 the name was changed to Coupon Directory, and in 1999 the name finally changed to MyCoupons.com.

In April 2000, MyCoupons was sold by Direct Response Technologies, Inc. (the previous owner of MyCoupons.com) to Save.com, a division of Valassis Communications, in a five year deal amounting to a value of an estimated $20 million dollars.  However, the deal unraveled as Save.com headed for bankruptcy, and by December 2000, MyCoupons.com was turned back over to Direct Response Technologies, Inc.

In January 2006, Direct Response Technologies, Inc. was sold to Digital River, Inc. and MyCoupons.com was spun off into Direct Sites, Jason Wolfe's newly formed company.  Beginning in July 2006 under new leadership, MyCoupons.com has undergone a major redevelopment, and the site re-launched on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2007.
